Long Pond View Cottage

Our lovely, spacious summer cottage located at the end of Long Pond, Mount Desert Island's largest recreational lake. Just across the road from the Pond, this cottage has wonderful views of the Pond and has access to a private dock. An ideal family vacation spot—right on the Pond, just 15 minutes or so to downtown Bar Harbor, and minutes from several Acadia National Park hiking trails. Bring your kayaks, canoes or rent them from National Park Canoe rental next door! Plan on lazy days of swimming, fishing, boating and relaxing while staying in this very comfortable, peaceful retreat!

This 4000+ sq. foot home features 4 bedrooms (two kings, two queens), 4 bathrooms. The main level features a living room, dining room and kitchen, as well as a king bedroom. On the lower level there is a full family room, a king and queen bedroom (and two baths). On the 3rd floor there is a queen bedroom and sitting room.

Amenities include three TVs with satellite, DVD player, high speed internet, dishwasher, washer/dryer, linens, cookware, diningware, microwave, stereo, and everything else you'll need to enjoy your vacation!

There's also a lovely back yard and deck for those family meals outside.

There is a dock out front that is shared with the National Park Canoe and Kayak Rental across the road. They keep their rescue and support boat at the dock.

Just a short drive brings you to the historic village of Bar Harbor where a variety of shops can be found. Also nearby are the entrances to beautiful Acadia National Park, the yachting community of Northeast Harbor, and the fishing villages of Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor and Bernard. The world famous Hinckley Yacht yards are in nearby Manset.

Best of all, as our name implies, we are just fifty yards from the shore of Great Long Pond, where water pure enough to drink awaits your swimming. Great Long Pond is a water enthusiast's paradise. Canoe and kayak rentals are available on our premises, with excellent gear and instruction provided.

There is something for everyone on Mount Desert Island. Outdoor activities include hiking for all abilities, canoeing & kayaking, sea kayaking, boat charters, bike rentals, and an excellent naturalist program with Acadia National Park personnel.
